TWELVE laptops have been donated to Redhall Primary School as part of Peter Gibson’s drive to get young people connected.
The devices were donated by True Potential, Newcastle.
Peter Gibson, Member of Parliament for Darlington, said: "I'm delighted to support families at Red Hall Primary School, I continue to work closely with a number of schools in Darlington to ensure that local children have access to learning"
"These are critical tools which students need in order to fully participate in remote learning, I know that these devices will support twelve families to access learning in these challenging times"
True Potential’s Chief Executive, Daniel Harrison, said: “As soon as we heard that the UK was going into another lockdown, I knew that once again there would be an urgent need for laptops and I was determined we would move quickly and do our bit to help. We contacted suppliers and bought new machines to be donated to local schools."
“I’m grateful to Peter for helping to connect us with a school that can put these computers to good use. The digital divide is very real and is being felt by children and families every day. I really hope that these computers will enable young people to continue their education in these difficult circumstances.”
