Yesterday (14 May) members of the Police UK Disability Sport visited the Palace of Westminster at the invitation of Darlington MP, Peter Gibson.
Police UK Disability Sport provides sports recovery in regional, national, and international sports formats.
The service is open to serving and retired Police Officers and staff from both civilian and Armed Forces Police, those with injuries or living with a disability, illness or mental health.
The team spoke with a number of MPs in relation to highlighting their campaign to increase support for all Police Officers and staff in the UK, through the power of sports recovery.
The team also spoke with the former Home Secretary Suella Braverman MP, who has provided her full backing for Police disability sport.
Their campaign to access Proceeds of Crime money was also well received by ministers.
Commenting Peter Gibson MP said, “It was great to host the Police UK Disability Sport team on their first visit Parliament to discuss their campaigns, which are aimed at supporting disabled and injured Police Officers”.
