A photograph signed by the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak featuring the team of women who work tirelessly behind the scenes at a Darlington school has today been presented to them by Darlington’s MP Peter Gibson.
In January the Prime Minister visited the Education Village, in Haughton-le-Skerne, Darlington to speak with pupils, teachers and parents. Mr Sunak also met with the Academy’s catering team and gathered for a group photograph.
Since then, the town’s MP Peter Gibson has had the photograph signed by Mr Sunak and framed.
In a presentation today, to mark International Women’s Day Peter handed over the picture to a delighted team.
Peter Gibson MP said “The ladies were so excited to meet with the Prime Minister and it was lovely to drop off a memento of his visit to the school.
“The team work incredibly hard behind the scenes and it was nice to see that recognised, especially on International Women’s Day”.
“It was lovely to see the picture in pride of place, hanging in the Education Village Kitchen, even before I left”.
