Nathan, Linda, and Paul Beadle the trio behind FC Darlington Locomotives visited No. 10 Downing Street on Tuesday 30th January as part of an event aimed at recognising those who have contributed to sport in the community.
The Darlington based all-girls football club, FC Darlington Locomotives ensures that every girl has the chance to play football regardless of age, background or ability. They have fostered a culture of teamwork and community amongst girls who play and have managed to successfully support 100's of girls across Darlington in playing football.
The FC Locomotives are the very essence of grassroots sport and provide not only a chance for their players to access the game they love but have developed a true sense of community amongst its players and have no plans to stop.
Speaking about Nathan, Linda, and Paul Beadle success Peter Gibson MP said “FC Darlington Locomotives have done an incredible job getting girls playing football in record numbers from every part of our town and it was wonderful to share a tour with them.
“The FC Locomotives' Chairman Nathan Beadle and his team are fantastic champions for the sport and have truly given their all to ensuring the success of women's football here in Darlington.
“The FC Locomotives' team work extremely hard to encourage more girls to become active and engaged in sport and inspire the girls they work with to become role models within their own communities”.
