Dozens of employers and organisations gathered at Darlington College for Darlington’s second Apprenticeships and Training Fair last week.
The free event at Darlington College was held between 10am-3pm on Friday 16 September. It was been organised by Darlington MP, Peter Gibson.
The event highlighted new training and employment opportunities that are available for all age groups across Darlington. A range of organisations offered advice and support on a range of work, training and volunteering opportunities.
Some of the employers taking part will include platinum sponsor Karbon Homes, EE, Darlington Borough Council, DWP, Morrison Trust, Redde and Northgate, Aldi and the Helen’s Group.
A range of temporary and permanent vacancies were available to apply for on the day.
Peter Gibson MP said “I am committed to helping and supporting the people of Darlington secure employment and training opportunities.
“I’ve always said that we need more job opportunities here to enable everyone to fulfil their potential. Last week, after months of planning, I hosted my second jobs and apprenticeship fair at Darlington College.
“I was delighted to have almost fifty organisations represented who collectively were recruiting for well in excess of 700 opportunities in and around Darlington.
Iain Herdman, Assistant Director of People and Organisational Development at Karbon Homes said: “We’re proud to be supporting this year’s event, which is set to provide a range of training and employment opportunities alongside helpful tips and advice for job seekers.
“With a whole host of employers attending, including the recruitment team from Karbon, jobs fairs like this are a great opportunity to find out what there is on offer in the local area and how to make your application stand out from the crowd.”
