Peter Gibson MP has congratulated a local constituency restaurant for its remarkable national success.
Situated in the heart of Darlington’s Town Centre, The Café Spice Restaurant, 19 Clark's Yard, was voted one of the best curry houses at the annual Curry Life Awards 2022.
The Darlington’s eatery was among one of the best 22 curry restaurants and 8 best curry chefs from across the country given top recognition at a gala dinner and awards ceremony last October hosted by Journalist and Broadcaster, Angela Rippon and Mike Bushell at London’s West End.
Local MP, Peter Gibson, visited his constituency restaurant in person to congratulate the Café Spice in Darlington after the nationwide covid restrictions were relaxed.
Mr Peter Gibson MP said: “I was delighted to be able to drop in recently and congratulate Mr Brian Mohon Miah, owner of Café Spice and his team personally for winning this prestigious award.
“This national recognition of a local restaurant will only enhance Darlington’s reputation for good quality food. To be named as one of the best curry restaurants in the country is a remarkable achievement, and Café Spice team should feel very proud.”
Mr Brian Miah, from Café Spice Darlington, said: “We are overwhelmed with the response locally from our regular and new customers and we are particularly grateful to our great constituency MP, Peter Gibson, for his encouragement and support.”
